Our History

How it started

Blackrush didn't start as a business. It started because we wanted to make something that actually felt right. No plan, no roadmap, no trend chasing. Just a desire to build something of our own, something we'd wear ourselves and stand behind.

Everything here is self taught. The art. The design. The website. The product. The mistakes. We learned by doing, by messing things up, by throwing work away when it wasn't good enough, and by slowly getting better. That part never really stops. The work evolves because we evolve.

How we got our name

When we set out to build this brand, we knew one thing for certain. We didn't want to be just another salt something. No offense to the countless brands that lead with salt, but it's been done, and we've always believed that if you're going to represent Florida's outdoors, you've got to bring something different.

We wanted a name with roots. Something you'd remember, not because it shouted, but because it carried a story.

We also didn't want to box ourselves into one slice of what Florida offers. From the flats and mangroves to the pines and the everglades, Florida's wild places aren't defined by one single element, and neither are we. Our name had to reflect that freedom.

That's when we landed on Blackrush.

What we're about

Blackrush is art driven first. Not a trend machine. Not a content engine. Not a hype cycle. We make what we want to make, with intention, restraint, and honesty. If it resonates with you, that's great. If it doesn't, that's fine too. We're not trying to be for everyone.

The work is inspired by the things we care about and spend time around. Fishing, hunting, the water, the woods, the beaches, wildlife, military culture, discipline, and the quiet moments in between. Those things are part of our world, not the limits of it.

If you're here because the work speaks to you, we're glad you found it. Either way, welcome. Enjoy the ride.
